Popular Severn Valley Railway-based British Railways Standard 4 No. 75069 has had its first steaming in over 20 years.
With a fire in its belly, the 2-6-0 was rolled out of Bridgnorth Works on December 13 to celebrate this momentous occasion, marking the start of a vigorous test programme, which will continue through to the early part of the New Year. When the test programme has been satisfactorily completed, the engine will go into the paint shop for finishing and preparation for a formal launch onto the railway.
