A metre gauge train rides the Goram Ghat viaduct in northern Rajasthan

The forthcoming season sees our popular ‘Indian Magic’ tour, covering all three of India’s Hill Railways, running as usual, and following the success of our Darjeeling Mail tour last October, recreating the 1940’s Raj era train between Kolkata and Darjeeling in the hills, this tour is being repeated with several improvements.  We also have a new tour, visiting the wonderful Kangra Valley Railway in the Himalayan foothills, and then moving on to the (now very rare) metre gauge line. This one travels on a steep ‘ghat’ or mountain section in Rajasthan, through impressive hills between Kamblighat and Phulad.  The viaducts are awesome!  Our Southern India tours have always been popular, so we have brought together the best of the south for you.  We are aware that husbands and wives usually wish to travel together, so, whilst we endeavour to provide the best railway experiences possible, there is always plenty to attract ‘the other half’ of the partnership.  An offer to visit the Taj Mahal always goes down well!
