Memorable day trips by luxury train

by

At UK Railtours we’re justly proud of being family owned since 1978. Many people associate a train journey with their daily commute to work, very much a ‘grudge purchase’ and hardly a memorable experience. We’re here to show that on board a private excursion train with like-minded travelling companions, things are very different. There really is a pleasurable side to rail travel and it’s here ready for you to enjoy to the full!

A selection of our forthcoming tours:

The Magic Carpet – Saturday 17th June

Join us as we’re hauled by heritage diesel-electric Class 73/9 locomotives to Exeter. We travel via the scenic West of England Main Line toward our first set down point of Axminster, where coaches will meet the train for our off-train options. Visit either the wonderful narrow-gauge Seaton Tramway or the fascinating Pecorama, with its impressive model railway exhibitions and beautiful gardens – plus the Beer Heights Miniature Railway, one of the finest in the country!

Departing London Waterloo and calling at Woking and Basingstoke

The Worth Valley Spelunker – Saturday 15th July

This tour sees us travel to the northwest Yorkshire towns of Keighley and Skipton. We have two exciting off-train options available – explore the hidden natural world of White Scar Cave buried deep beneath the Yorkshire Dales, or take a step back in time aboard the preserved steam-hauled trains of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, of Railway Children fame!

Departing London King’s Cross and calling at Potters Bar, Stevenage and Peterborough

The Skipping Devonian – Saturday 16th September

The glorious scenery of Devon is the backdrop as we visit the charming seaside towns of Torquay and Paignton. Our off-train option takes us on the historic Dartmouth Steam Railway to Kingswear, where we cross by ferry to picturesque Dartmouth.

Departing Peterborough and calling at Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, Potters Bar and Finsbury Park

We offer great value Standard Class fares, with our buffet car providing a range of snacks and refreshments. For the ultimate rail experience, why not travel in First Class Dining? Enjoy the best in British menus, prepared onboard by our talented chefs.
