West Somerset Railway in need of C or D switch for Blue Anchor

by

The West Somerset Railway is in need of a C or D Switch for Blue Anchor, as highlighted in red below, to enable us to fully re-open to Minehead on the 19th April 2019.

“If you have anything in stock, or have a supplier who may have, could you please email myself, or contact on the numbers below (Day or Evenings),” Jonathan Jones-Pratt said.

“The current switches at 6 pts is a special curved LH E switch in bullhead rail. We need as big a switch as available anywhere to minimise the movement of the points operating equipment (POE), ideally minimum C or D switches and must be LH.

I can make a selection of switch sizes fit as I have topographically surveyed the site, we just don’t have any spare switches greater than B size which is too small and results in too much movement of the POE and would also look horrible.”

“Please advise if you can source suitable parts and I can confirm if they will fit and produce a quick design.”
