FORMER Aberdeen Gasworks Barclay 0-4-0ST No. 2239 of 1947 Mr Therm has returned to its home in the Granite City’s Seaton Park playground.
The move follows cosmetic renovation by David Ogilvie Engineering of Kilmarnock.
The colourful ‘Pug’ arrived back in pieces on February 15, and was reassembled in situ over the next three days.

It has received repairs to corroded platework and a full repaint, while ensuring that it remains a safe exhibit for children to play on. Representative connecting rods and motion have been fitted together with a ‘fire’ visible through the firebox door.
For purposes of display, Mr Therm is now accompanied by a ‘train’ of children’s play equipment built on the remains of three former gasworks wagons and an LMS brakevan. Little of the original wagons survive, however, having received new chassis to replace the original wooden ones.
