Following an extensive winter maintenance programme, Collett 4-6-0 No. 7820 Dinmore Manor has been turned out in lined black livery – in time for heading the Cheltenham Festival race specials and for the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s Broadway opening over the Easter weekend.
When built new in 1950, Dinmore Manor first entered traffic in lined black, a livery that it wore until 1955 when it then appeared in unlined black. This is the first time that it has appeared in lined black during the heritage era.
In keeping with the era that it wore lined black in BR service, it has retained the early lion and wheel crest on its tender.

DInmore Manor Locomotive Ltd has also found the time to do the preparatory work on the boiler from Collett 2884 class 2-8-0 No. 3845, which has just been transported to Riley & Son Engineering for refurbishment.
When finished, that boiler will be used on sister locomotive No. 3850.
No. 3850’s original boiler, which was in the poorer condition of the two will eventually be used on No. 3845.
