Rebuild green light for Lynton & Barnstaple

THE Lynton & Barnstaple Railway has been given the green light to rebuild more of the original railway.

Planning permission to rebuild the line from the Old Station House Inn at Blackmoor Gate – the original L&B station – to Wistlandpound Reservoir was granted by North Devon Council on June 15.

While revivalists aim to rebuild the entire line from Lynton to Barnstaple, Wistlandpound Reservoir is viewed as an excellent interim western terminus because it offers a meaningful destination for tourists.
