Hot news from NYMR
By: Web Editor
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) has been forced to introduce a revised locomotive roster from the beginning of July to counter the threat of fire risks from steam traction during the current dry spell.
In addition to using Class 24 24061 and Class 25/3 25278 the NYMR has hired visiting Class 31 31128 to work trains as necessary. The initial roster at the beginning of July saw the use of diesel traction piloting / banking all trains between Grosmont and Goathland with some continuing to Levisham and other services being diesel-hauled throughout.
The roster changes on a daily basis, subject to weather conditions, and intending visitors can find details of the current day’s roster at www.nymr.co.uk/enthusiasts/loco-roster-2
