Lottery grant will return Jurassic to steam

FORMER Southam cement works Peckett 0-6-0ST No. 1008 of 1903 Jurassic is to be returned to steam thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Bought by the 2ft gauge Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway in 1961, Jurassic last ran before the original line at Humberston closed in 1985.

The LCLR has since been rebuilt at the Skegness Water Leisure Park at Winthorpe and Jurassic has been stored pending the outcome of an appeal to raise £30,000.
